Cora Bekker

Biografie
The Lateral Intercostal Arterial Perforator (LICAP) flap (Hamdi et al., 2004; Lipman et al., 2021) is a oncoplastic surgery technique with good cosmetic results. However two issues exist: the patient will have a large, visible scar and the surgery requests interoperative repositioning of the patient (Meybodi et al., 2019). The modified LICAP results in a hidden arch-like scar and needs no interoperative repositioning.
Despite these advancements recent literature shows a low number of publications on the cosmetic outcome of the modified LICAP and little use of the combination BREAST-Q and the BCCT.core software. This cross-sectional pilot study is a first evaluation of the cosmetic results of the modified LICAP in patients operated in the Albert Schweitzer Hospital between March 2020 and Oktober 2024. Of the 49 women in the study population a total of 29 were included. The BREAST-Q and BCCT.core analysis was completed by 20 patients. The BCCT.core outcome and BREAST-Q will be tested using SPSS for Spearman’s rho to evaluate the role of symmetry in the cosmetic outcomes.
